I'm not big on talking politics but I'm just looking out for people that do not have health insurance and might not afford the "fine".
Here's what I know. If you don't already have health insurance, you have to sign up for health care at www.healthcare.gov BY TODAY, March 31, 2014. They'll work on what you need and will base it on your income, so they try to make it affordable. If you do not sign up by today, you have to wait until registration opens again in November, and you'll face a tax penalty of $95 or 1% of your annual income, whichever is greater, in 2015 tax season.
Also, there's so much traffic going to this website that they basically bring you to a "waiting room" if you want to sign up or login. I don't recommend waiting on the page, but you can enter your email address and they'll email you a link for when you can register or login. The whole process to just get it is nuts. You also have the ability to call and register at 1-800-318-2596.
A lot of people do not know about this, so try to spread the word to those that you know or care about. I didn't even know about it until late last week. Do what is right for yourself, I guess.
